Injectible Muscle Relaxants

Facial Rejuvenation Therapy for Fine Facial Lines and Wrinkles, Facial Contouring, Excessive Sweating

Downtime None

Injectable Muscle Relaxants is the most popular non-surgical plastic surgery procedure in the United States and is increasing in popularity in Singapore. The cosmetic form of BTX, this therapy is aimed specifically at dynamic lines on the face. When injected, this compound temporarily reduces or eliminates frown lines, forehead creases, crows feet near the eyes and thick bands in the neck, enabling the skin to regain a smoother, more refreshed appearance.

This purified protein is injected selectively into the muscles responsible for dynamic lines on the face. This purified protein blocks the nerve impulses, temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles. These lines will be effaced over the next 3-5 days. The effect lasts from 3-6 months and tends to increase in duration with repeated injections into the same area. This compound can also be used in conjunction with dermal fillers.

Micro BTX refers to the use of a less concentrated form of BTX which is injected into a shallower position in the skin of a patient. This means that it acts on the shallower structures in the skin such as sweat glands, oil glands and the shallower parts of the muscles.

It can be used in patients with large open pores with oily and sweaty complexions. Over time, there will be a reduction in sweat and oil production and pore refinement.

It can also used to reduce sweating in underarm areas and other areas.

When micro Botox techniques are used to treat dynamic lines of the face such as frown lines and crow’s feet, the lines are reduced but normal muscle function of the deeper muscles is preserved. The dynamic lines are reduced but natural facial expression is maintained.

In the neck, injection of Micro Botox can cause a moderate neck lift procedure by selectively weakening the outer fibres of the shallow sheet of muscle in the neck called the platysma.

This is an outpatient procedure that is done in the clinic procedure room. No anaesthesia is required and there is no downtime for the patient.
