Body Contouring in Men
Liposuction in men is different because men have different problem areas, have thicker skin and, in some cases, have collections not suitable for liposuction. The proverbial “beer belly” could be from fat within the body cavity which liposuction cannot treat. This is easily checked with physical examination. On the plus side, men do not have cellulite. Finally, we do have requests from men to sculpt our liposuctions of the abdomen to create a six pack.
Surgery is usually done as a day surgery under GA or with an overnight stay if the amount of fat removed is high. We use VASER ultrasound assisted liposuction. Downtime is 7-10 days and the patient has to wear a tight garment over the treated area for 4 weeks.
