Range Of Non-Surgical Treatments
At the Aesthetic & Reconstructive Centre, we understand that cosmetic concerns go beyond plastic surgery or filler injections. As such, Dr Khoo also provides the following non-surgical treatments to help patients resolve their concerns in a safe and effective manner.
Liposonix Fat Ablation
This is a popular fat reduction technique that uses high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) to break down fat collections. It is especially useful in the treatment of belly fat where the collections are more than 3 cm in thickness.
The procedure can be done under topical analgesia and oral pain medication but the majority of our patients prefer sedation. The procedure takes 45 minutes to 1 hour, with roughly 24-48 hours of recovery time due to mild discomfort in the treated area.
Thermage RF Facial Tightening
This is a non-invasive procedure for tightening the skin of the face and neck by applying radio-frequency energy to the deep collagen layers of the skin. The unique Thermage head with built-in surface cooling heats up the deeper layers of the skin without affecting the surface of the skin. We use this for patients with mild to moderate laxity of the brow, midface and neck.
The tightening procedure takes 1-2 hours and can be done under topical anaesthesia or intravenous sedation. The results are seen 2-3 months after the treatment and can last 2 years.
Miradry Treatment for the Underarms
This is a microwave based treatment system that selectively removes the sweat glands in the depths of skin. This is achieved without minimal effect to the overlying skin. It has the advantage of giving a long-lasting reduction of sweat production in the treated area.
This is done as a day surgery procedure under local anaesthesia. It takes 1 hour, and the recovery period is 3-4 days due to mild discomfort and redness in the treated areas.
