Plastic Surgery For Reconstruction
Reconstruction of the chest and abdomen is done when patients have had structures removed from these areas. This can be due to cancer surgery, injury or congenital abnormalities.
Dr Khoo is specifically trained to use a variety of skin grafts, local flaps and distant flaps to reconstruct the structures of the chest such as in advanced breast cancers and the abdomen. An example would be helping patients who have had major surgery of the abdomen and removal of part of the abdominal wall. In the abdomen, patients who have had major surgeries are prone to poor healing and hernia formation – a good reconstruction helps to prevent these unwanted effects.
Dr Andrew Khoo is a consultant plastic surgeon practicing at the Aesthetic & Reconstructive Centre in Singapore. He is dedicated to providing professional aesthetic care in a relaxed and private setting.
Aesthetic Surgeon Dr Khoo was awarded the Master of Medicine in Surgery in Singapore and obtained fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He received further training in craniofacial and aesthetic surgery during his time at the Institute of Craniofacial and Reconstructive Surgery in Southfield.
