Gynecomastia Treatment
Gynecomastia or prominent male breasts are a common problem in men. This is usually caused by a hormone surge that occurs during puberty but rarely, can be due to hormone secreting tumours, diet and use of body building steroids and hair growth promoting medication. The breast can be made up of fat or a combination of fat and breast tissue.
Surgery is done as a day surgery under GA. The fatty portion is removed with VASER ultrasound assisted liposuction and the breast tissue, if present, is excised through a well-hidden incision. Surgery takes 2 hours. Downtime of 7-10 days and the patients has to wear a tight garment over the chest for 3 weeks.
When it comes to quality healthcare, men should not be excluded from seeking out care that they deserve.
